Camp Ozanam is a family camp whose mission is to welcome, without any distinction of race, language or religion, families who could not otherwise benefit from a vacation in the countryside, families who are below the poverty line and has been for 56 years Founded in 1962 by Father Réal Pilon, cleric of Saint-Viateur, the Ozanam camp owes its name to Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, a layman who founded Saint-Vincent de Paul in Paris. From the age of 20, Ozanam and a few companions felt the need to affirm their faith, in the most humble and discreet way possible, by visiting the poor and bringing them material and spiritual help.

Camp Ozanam began in tents and it is with the help of volunteers that Camp Ozanam as we know it was built and gradually erected. Today, it consists of 26 sites to receive underprivileged and low-income families from all over the province for the summer season.
